Here is our updated cruise schedule. The first one is through January 3, 2026

The second one is through June 7, 2026.

We have several gaps we haven’t filled in yet. Our Tentative plan is that when we get off the river cruise on May 6 in Budapest, we will go to Prague for a few days. We will then go to Southampton and do a 7 night PRINCESS Cruise and a 13 night Celebrity Apex cruise in Norway. We can then fly home from Gatwick England direct on Norse air to Orlando.
This plan will give us from March 8, 2026 to May 29, 2026 in Europe. We will do a 15night transatlantic Port Canveral to Barcelona, stay on the same ship and cabin for another 7night and 12night cruise. We will then fly to Rome and do a 7 night cruise. That has us finishing in Rome 3 days before our 15 night River cruise starts in Amsterdam. We plan to stay a few days in Amsterdam at an Airbnb.
This will be our first river cruise and the first cruise we have paid for in 10 years. It’s our bucket list Cruise! We’ll go 15 days up to Budapest.
Our entire 83-85 day trip should consist of 7 night in Airbnb‘s. We will fly one way from Southamptonto Rome, One Way Rome to Amsterdam and either fly or train from Prague to Southampton. We then do a one-way from Southampton to Orlando direct 9 1/2 hours to go home.
Here is an approximate rough budget as we are still in the planning stages and too early to book everything:
6 cruises for 2 people. $1400
7 nights in Airbnb‘s $1000 (I think Prague will be pricey)
Flight for 2 Southamptonto Rome $400
Flight for 2 Rome to Amsterdam $400
Flight/train for 2 Prague to Southampton $400
Flight for 2 to Orlando $800
Total for these trips $4400
15 nights River cruise for 2 inclusive of everything, including excursions, drinks, gratuities, food, etc. $8400
Total for all 83 days. $12,800
We plan an extra $2000 for cost over runs or last-minute changes. That will probably cover most of our excursions as well.
We have not included excursions outside of the river cruise. We don’t buy a lot of excursions through the ships. We do a lot on our own or through https://www.viator.com/.
We find the local trains, buses, hop on hop off buses to also be a great way to sightsee frugally.
